Eco Retreat Odisha is a flagship eco-tourism initiative by the Government of Odisha, curated and managed by Lallooji and Sons to promote sustainable tourism across the state’s most scenic destinations. Blending luxury with nature, the retreats are set in diverse landscapes from the golden beaches of Konark to the tranquil hills of Daringbadi offering travelers a chance to experience Odisha’s natural beauty and cultural depth responsibly.
The initiative aims to spotlight Odisha as an eco-conscious travel destination by integrating sustainability, hospitality, and regional experiences. Each retreat focuses on local engagement, eco-friendly accommodation, and immersive outdoor activities designed to boost tourism while preserving the state’s ecological and cultural heritage.
ABOUT
From December 2020 to March 2021, I served as the official Travel Photographer and Tour Guide for Eco Retreat Odisha under Lallooji and Sons. My primary responsibility was to document the retreats across Konark, Satkosia, Hirakud, and Daringbadi—capturing their natural landscapes, cultural vibrance, and guest experiences through impactful visual storytelling.
Working closely with the hospitality and event management teams, I created a cohesive visual narrative that aligned with the retreat’s brand ethos. My focus was to present Odisha’s authentic charm—its people, traditions, and biodiversity—through photography and videography that evoked both emotion and curiosity. This project strengthened my ability to merge tourism, creativity, and communication to elevate destination visibility.

Eco Retreat Odisha – Visual Documentation
Description
As part of Odisha’s largest eco-tourism campaign, my work involved crafting compelling visual content that reflected the soul of each destination. From sunrise shots at Konark’s coastlines to storytelling frames in the forests of Satkosia, I aimed to convey a balance between adventure and tranquility. I collaborated with the marketing and hospitality divisions to ensure the visuals aligned with promotional goals while maintaining authenticity and aesthetic consistency.
The project allowed me to interact with diverse communities, explore sustainable hospitality models, and understand the synergy between tourism and conservation. Each location presented unique challenges—from dynamic lighting conditions to unpredictable terrains—which helped refine my technical expertise and adaptability as a travel photographer. The final output contributed to Eco Retreat Odisha’s growing visibility as a leading example of eco-conscious travel in India.
