UP Anubhav is a cultural tourism initiative by Muttpackers, designed to uncover and promote the diverse heritage, traditions, and communities of Uttar Pradesh. The project focuses on bringing forward authentic regional stories through immersive exploration, visual content, and community-based documentation.
A key aspect of the initiative involved engaging with the Tharu tribe, an indigenous community known for its deep connection with nature, distinct lifestyle, and cultural identity. The project aimed to highlight their heritage and everyday life, contributing to a broader understanding of Uttar Pradesh’s cultural fabric and promoting responsible rural tourism.

From March to April 2025, I worked as a Brand Content Creator for Muttpackers, contributing to the UP Anubhav Project. My role was to explore and visually document the Tharu tribe’s way of life through photography and videography—capturing their traditions, environment, and community spirit.
The assignment required extensive fieldwork, interaction with locals, and the ability to tell authentic stories through visuals. I was responsible for producing a comprehensive photo and video documentation that could serve both as a creative narrative and as a cultural archive for the project’s future campaigns and exhibitions.

UP Anubhav – Tharu Tribe Visual Documentation
Description
The UP Anubhav project offered me a unique opportunity to work closely with the Tharu tribal community in Uttar Pradesh. My focus was to authentically portray their culture, daily lifestyle, and relationship with their environment through creative storytelling. The visual documentation emphasized details of their architecture, attire, crafts, and rituals—elements that define their identity and connection to the land.
This project allowed me to deepen my understanding of ethnographic storytelling and the responsibility that comes with documenting indigenous cultures. It also honed my ability to balance artistry with sensitivity—ensuring every frame respected the people and the place it represented. The experience strengthened my passion for culture-driven travel content and reinforced my belief in storytelling as a tool for cultural preservation.
